If you spent much time on Twitter over the holiday weekend, I’m sorry. But if you weren’t laid up with a twisted ankle like this writer, you may have missed out on a funny running joke making the rounds. People were photoshopping fake google results for the “real name” or “full name” of various celebrities, resulting in jokes like, “Cardi B‘s full name is Cardigan Backyardigan.”
This weekend wasn’t the first time jokes like this were made. Take these older tweets, for example:
But photoshopping fake google results is a more recent spin on the meme. As you can probably guess by now, people were joking primarily about the names of rappers, but some folks on Twitter occasionally revealed the original full names of non-rap musicians and actors as well. They shared Liam Neeson’s full name, for example:
And T Pain:
Post Malone:
DJ Khaled:
Ludacris:
The Weeknd:
T.I.:
Bow Wow:
Snoop Dogg:
Machine Gun Kelly:
Trippie Redd:
Lil Pump:
Lil Uzi Vert:
Mac Miller:
Quavo:
The Rock:
Jay Z:
Method Man:
Nas:
P Diddy:
50 Cent:
J. Cole:
Frank Ocean:
Ice Cube
Ice-T:
And this joke brought together the meme and Twitter’s obsession with “Despacito”.
