It’s that time of year again, the shopping holiday Amazon is trying to make a tradition: Prime Day. We’ve got you set up with the five apps you need to dominate Prime Day, and the Golden Rules of Prime Day, so all that remains is the deals themselves. We’ve divided them into three categories. The first two, Amazon’s devices and the new Prime Day Exclusives, will stick around all through the shopping frenzy. The third category, launching at 3pm, is made up of the Prime Day deals you have to move fast to pick up.
We’ll have rolling updates on that as things progress. With that, let’s see what’s for sale.
Amazon Devices
As always, Amazon has deep discounts on its devices. These are fairly standard price cuts for Amazon, so if you’ve been thinking about buying one, now’s the time to strike.
Echo Dots are available for $30, $20 off.
The Echo is $70, 30% off.
The Kindle Paperwhite is $80, down a third from its usual price.
Dash buttons are a dollar, down from their usual $5, so if you constantly need to order Ziplocs or laundry detergent, now is definitely the time, since the $5 credit applied to your first order is still in place.
And the Echo Spot is 23% off, bringing the smart alarm clock down to $100.
Prime Day Exclusives
New this year are Prime Day exclusives, new products from various companies Amazon is keeping for Prime members and that you can only get through Amazon for Prime Day. It’s sort of an early access pass to these items, and they have some fairly intriguing deals if you’re in the market for these things.
If you need to grind, brew, and drink your coffee in one sitting, the Coffee Boy quite literally does it all, using a rechargeable ceramic grinder to create pour-over coffee from any bean you have for $40.
Boxlock, a smart padlock designed to connect to your WiFi, is $130. It’s designed to connect to your home WiFi and allow delivery services to put items in boxes or sheds easily, and let you track who unlocks it.
The Tewell T-232 Soundbar is designed to be every speaker to everyone: It can be a wired soundbar for your TV, a wireless sound bar for your phone over Bluetooth, or even split in two to serve as stereo speakers. Not bad for $110.
Home chefs need blenders, and the Vitamix E390 Explorian, a professional-grade blender, can liquify pretty much any food item you throw into it for $350.
Seagate makes great, roomy portable hard drives, and the STGX1000400 has 1TB for just $65.
If you’ve got a tailgater in your life, Coleman’s RoadTrip 225 Portable Tabletop Propane Grill will get the burgers done, and it’s just $160.
